Over the past century Caterpillar pioneered tracked machinery and the diesel engine, now it's focusing its efforts on the future as it looks ahead to 2125. Caterpillar is celebrating its centenary at Bauma, but it can trace its origins back more than 100 years to the early 20th century when founders Benjamin Holt and CL Best were competitors, each working on their own industrial vehicle technology.
